Overlanding has long been much more than driving large tires and preparing a coffee on a jetboil along the Isonzo river. It is a lifestyle and, like any true lifestyle, it also requires aesthetic and intelligent functionality. Jeep, in collaboration with the Guru dell’Overland as a domestic, presents the Articles – “Awning and Rooftop Tent” system, which in its conceptual form has aroused great enthusiasm at the Overland Expo West in Arizona. And for a reason.
When the function is elegant
The first thing that jumps to the eye? Low profile carbon shell. It is like putting a camping tent for two in a Patagonia backpack. But inside the comfort is guaranteed: a roof curtain with Air Frame swelling technology of Dometic, four windows with zipper, a ladder for external access and space for a double bed. In reality it is only a hotel room overlooking the stars (if you have enough 4G signal, even with Netflix).
Festivals, LED lighting included
A tent that extends like a Tuscan pergola (or almost) transforms the back of the jeep into a real meeting center. The 270 degree cover guarantees shadow, shelter and environmental lighting thanks to the integrated LED stripes. It is supported by a steel cable that starts from the engine hood (why not?) And from several support arms, all with complete access to the trunk. That called “Hangout mode”, without Wi-Fi password.
Entrance from the inside: a futuristic passage towards Articles
Don’t you think that getting on a staircase to enter a tent at three in the morning is a dream experience? Thanks to Artt, you can access the curtain on the roof directly from the jeep passenger compartment. Remove the “Panels of Freedom”, climb on the carbon fiber step and here it is done: enter the bed module like an astronaut. No carrier grass, no mosquitoes. Only comfort.

It is important to emphasize that Articles is not just a jeep marketing stunt. It is the result of the collaboration with Dometic, an almost cult brand in the world of land transport equipment. When they sign something, it means it’s not a joke. And Jeep knows when to let the experts do their job.
Conclusion: Articles – A concept that should become a series
Although it is a concept, the articles is already more useful than half of the series curtains on the market. Thanks to the combination of intelligent design, light structure, access from inside the vehicle and a socially useful curtain, it is a product that could redefine the way we mean “camperism”. And if they really put it for sale (which we hopefully hope), the articles will become the new Holy Grail of every true over -land lover.
The price is not yet known, but considering Dometic’s premium positioning and Jeep’s style, it is likely to be high. But on the other hand, isn’t it worth it to have an attic under the stars?
