Everyone knows that moment of panic: white shirt, red ketchup. Jeans for children, oily residues of french fries. That strange gray-yellow stain on the collar that appears despite you (I swear!) You have washed your hair this morning. Commercial stainrs promise miracles, but often contain chemicals that we do not even know how to pronounce the name, let alone understand what effects they have on our laundry and our health. And then … who has time and money to keep 15 different bottles in the laundry?
That’s why the homemade stainer, so loved by housewives and gentlemen, has become the secret weapon of every lover of intelligent laundry. The recipe is surprisingly simple, you will almost certainly have the ingredients in the house and, as regards the effectiveness, we only say that the ketchup will become past history and the fat stains will only be a topic to tell the readers of articles for laundry. And what is the best? It works so well that you will stop believing advertising.

How to make the more powerful homemade homemade stainer
This mixture is based on two simple but extremely effective ingredients:
- 1 part of liquid detergent for plates (ideally one that breaks down fat as a real professional),
- 2 parts 3 % hydrogen peroxide (the classic one that you can buy in any pharmacy and is known for its whitening and disinfectant properties).
Mix them together and keep them in dark splashes – This is fundamental, since over time the light disappears peroxide, weakening its power. We also recommend keeping the bottle in a cool and dark place (this is not a pretext for setting up a mini-laboratory in the pantry, but if you do it, why not?).
For extremely obstinate stains, add A pinch of sodium bicarbonate – This is the good old natural “pasta” that we use for everything, from cleaning the teeth to the neutralization of the smells. If combined with peroxide and detergent, it acts as a mechanical scrub on spots, without however being aggressive on the tissues.

How to use this miraculous mixture?
- Spray the mixture directly on the stain. The fabric must be well wet, since the liquid must penetrate deeply into the fibers. Don’t be avaries: this is not a perfume, it is a rescue operation.
- If the stain is obstinate (for example: ketchup, oil, fat, lipstick, grass or whatever it was overturned during a picnic), Sprinkle with a pinch of sodium bicarbonate on it and rub gently with a toothbrush.
- Leave to act for at least 5-10 minutes. During this period you can check Instagram, prepare a coffee or ask you because you wear so many white clothes when you always eat pasta with tomato sauce.
- Wash the head as usual. Better to wash it in the washing machine with a normal detergent. There is no need to set anything different: the initial formula already does its job.

Important warnings – to avoid saying “but I didn’t know!”
- To be used exclusively for laundry! This mixture is not suitable for rugs, sofas, cars seats or puppies (yes, we know you’ve already thought about it).
- Try on a hidden part of a dark garment.since peroxide can slightly lighten colors. Although it is generally safe, some dyes are a little more delicate and nobody would like a tie-love-style tie if this is not the intention.
- Store in a dark bottle. – Peroxide and light do not get along very much.
- It acts on a wide variety of spots: Ketchup, oil, sweat, lipstick, wine (yes, even red!), Ink, mud, grass … if you don’t remove that stain, it will probably remain there forever.
Conclusion: a little trick, a great victory
In an era in which the shops offer us more products for cleaning how many settings are available on our phones, it is nice to find a solution that combines simplicity, efficiency and respect for the environment (and for the wallet). This home solution to remove spots is not only effective, it is also legendary. It contains three inexpensive ingredients, it does not contain fragrances that cause headache and, more importantly, it really works.
If you are skeptical, take a test. Take the older stain -stained shirt from the pile of rags and treat it with this mixture. You will not believe what can still be recovered from apparently lost pieces. You may even be tempted to stop wearing your clothes as if they were “homemade” and to show them again with pride to the world.
