The mockups of the iPhone 17 – 2025 series have arrived, and they seem so convincing that you could easily exchange them for the original, if only they were not made of plastic. Let’s see what the Apple toys for adults this year reserves us.
Even if it is up to the autumn presentation iPhone 17 serie A few more months and the first physical “fictitious” models will already be in the hands of technology enthusiasts: yes, they seem so real that you almost want to connect them to a charger. Thanks to Apple Insider, we have the most complete panoramic so far on all four models arriving: from the “safe” iPhone 17, to the ambitious Pro brothers, to the subtle ultra Mela iPhone 17 Ariawhich could easily apply for the title of “more dietary phone of all time”. Let’s take a closer look at the iPhone 17 series.
Although they are still prototype models, they often represent a rather reliable indicator of what awaits us in autumn, at least in terms of form. Apple is a teacher in hiding the details, but the designers of houses cannot afford to wait for the official exit. Then they build replicas based on projects and voices, and these can be surprisingly accurate. Apple also wants the same thing.

Now, without further delay, let’s review all four models and let’s see which one is worth replacing this year … and which remains only a slightly more finished version of the last year model.
iPhone 17: the most boring among the stars
Let’s start with the basic model of the iPhone 17. Not because it is the most interesting thing, but because somewhere you have to start. Project? Recycled since last year: vertical camera, family buttons, classic “Apple look”. In other words: nothing new on the western front. But if you expected a revolution, Apple kindly invites you to try the pro models: that’s where real things happen.
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: when “Pro” really means Free your imagination: the iPhone 17 series
Let’s now move on to the models that Apple would really want you to buy. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max have borrowed some design tricks from Google’s pixel, in particular the gigantic module of the entirely width rear camera. Elegant? Perhaps. Exceptional? Certainly.

It is assumed that it is a new telephoto system, positioned horizontally inside. There are always three cameras, but accessories such as flash, microphone and lidar are now positioned in a more “organized” way, on the right side. And let’s face it: the larger Pro Max with his camera looks like a superhero, while the Pro behaves more like his apprentice.
In the Mockup of the Pro Max, the SIM slot is located on the left side, which means that the global version will probably support the physical sim cards, unlike the US obsession for the Esim.
And for all lovers of symmetry: the lower part of the phone now proudly shows five holes on both sides of the USB-C port. Beautiful, orderly and … probably completely irrelevant.

iPhone 17 Air: Apple starts on a diet
The third in line, the iPhone 17 Air, is an absolute stella model. Why? Because it is thinner than your summer portfolio after the holiday in Tuscany. With a thickness of only 5.5 mm, this is the thinnest iPhone ever. So thin that the USB-C connector seems almost an unwanted guest.

Camera? Modesto: a single goal, but probably with 48 MP and 2x digital zoom, which Apple knows how to pack very well as “revolutionary perspective”. Due to the thin thickness of the device, the protrusive protrusion is quite evident, but the aesthetic is affected if you want to weigh less than a chocolate tablet.
The Mockup model of the Air has even arrived slightly bent (plastic and glass are not the perfect combination for physical prototypes). Is it a sign of the imminent #bendgate 2.0? Apple is probably already preparing a team of public relations for any eventuality.

Technical goodies
This year all models will have 12 GB of RAM, which means that they will finally be able to manage all those cards of safaris that we never close. Operating system? iOS 19, which borrowed some tricks from Visionos, the Apple system for Vision Pro glasses. In other words: the iPhone meets the metvers, but without glasses.
And now let’s wait …
All four models – iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and 17 Air – are expected for September 2025. Until then, we will have to endure speculations, rendering and – obviously – mockup, which, to be honest, are already convincing enough to confuse many people in an Apple Store.
Of course, the key question remains: how much will all this cost? And will the difference between the models really justify the price? Well, at least the mockups are still free (for now).
