– Almost at the end of the two weeks of Christmas holidays, the Palasport of the B Old Wild West series return to come to anim each. On Sunday the teams will take the field for the last day of the first leg, an important challenge to weigh their respective paths in the middle of the season.

The Alba Basket Olympus comes from the convincing victory against Empoli, but is found in a still precarious physical situation with a series of doubts related to accidents suffered before and during the stop (instrumental exams scheduled for Rossi and Danna on Friday 3 January). Danna has been missing for more than a month, despite this the Langaroli have managed to conquer the two points against the Use. And in the ranking the Tuscans were hooked, in a trio composed of Alba, Empoli and Piombino.
The last day offers the direct clash against the Basketball Golfo Piombino, a formation that aims at the top of the ranking and is recovering ground after a start, surprisingly, not the line with expectations.
In fact, eight points that separate the Gialloblu from the leaders Omegna (at 24 with 12 successes and one defeat separate). However, the team led by coach Andreazza comes from second place in the past season (behind the Fulgor alone) and focused on continuity confirming the team in bulk. Iardella and Bianchi are in the seventh year in Piombino, Persico in the fourth and Procacci to the third. Indeed, the former Valsesia and San Severo Sodero and the former Urania Eliantonio were grafted in the summer. The roster is therefore first -rate and probably on paper second to Omegna alone in group A.
However, the results demonstrate the strength of the Tuscans, not rewarded in direct clashes with the other big names, this is why “only” of fifth place. 58-53 in Omegna, 68-62 in San Miniato, 72-70 in Palermo and the 70-80 against Florence are the four games that could have projected the gulf to the first or second place for a nonnnula. The other results are impressive, as evidenced by some of the record waste imposed on the opponents: +30 against Capo, +34 against Alessandria, +42 against Borgosesia.
The two points would be fundamental for Olympus Basket to defend themselves from the ascent and Piombino herself, but also of Lucca (seventh) and Palermo (fourth), very launched and in great shape. On this day, the fifteenth, removed Omegna-San Miniato and Piombino-Alba the other challenges on paper are decidedly more affordable for the first seven/eight, more reason for this direct clash.
Without thinking about this for the red and white will serve a master’s match to worry one of the battleships of the group. However, the most difficult challenges are always the most beautiful to live and play and then the appointment is for 18:00 on Sunday at the Pala Tenta (match broadcast live streaming).
