The Sigma altovolo is a hybrid-electric EVTOL aircraft that combines silent vertical take-off, an autonomy of 826 km and the skills of a private jet without the need for a landing track.

The altovolo Sigma is not afraid of height, nor of the competition. It is a three -seater Evol with a hybrid heart: batteries for vertical take -off and liquid fuel for long distances. Intelligent, as they say on Kickstarter: “Taken down in Eco mode, flies in turbo mode”.
The result? 820 km of autonomy (yes, you can go from Ljubljana to Frankfurt and return, with a stop for a coffee in the middle), cruise speed 354 km/h, maximum speed 467 km/h. It weighs 980 kg, or how much three average businessmen and an espresso machine weigh.
But the real magic is silence: 65-70 decibel to take-off. This means that while you are running away from the terrace towards your weekend in Chero, your neighbor will think that you have just turned on the dryer.
Safety, design and a little nostalgia
The Sigma altovolo is equipped with a ballistic parachute that opens at a height of 15 meters. It also has a redundant control system, which means that it will not block if an engine says “not today”.

Conclusion: a vision of the future of personal transport
Although Hollywood teases us for decades with its flying cars, reality usually reaches them with a delay of 20 years and with much less show. But the Sigma altovolo could really change the cards on the table. When it is ready for mass production (i.e.: when it will be possible to get a loan without having to sell a kidney), the sky will become the new highway.
