When Hyundai offers you an electric SUV that smells of modernity, China and the optimism of number 8, you know that something great is happening. The Hyundai Elexio (2026) arrived: the first, bold, exclusive.

The name “Elexio” sounds like that of an android futuristic fighter, but in reality it is a Hyundai the first electric SUV dedicated to China. And no, don’t wear it. Ioniq badges. Why? Because Hyundai Elexio (2026) does not want to be just another … he wants to be someone. Like that class student who bears his name with pride and silent security. Elexio is the result of five years of development, signed in the Sino-Corean alliance Beijing Hyundai (Hyundai + Baic Motor), who wants to remedy the decrease in the numbers of the Korean giant in this megream of electricity and innovation.

Appearance: between Ioniq 5 and Happy Meal

At first glance, it seems that Ioniq 5 has been deprived of its angular corners and sent to a DIM SUM plate. Elexio is more round, more fluid, but still futuristic enough to be easily mistaken for the shooting set of a new Netflix series on post-covid urban planning. The led front lights are symbolically designed with a four square motif, which alludes to the number 8, the luckiest number in China. Is the final touch the bright bar all width and the chromatic contrast of the Montante C. rear wipers? Apparently hidden under a spoiler for … aesthetic.

AS: It is not only intelligent, but also culturally sensitive.

Hyundai + China = a love that needs a spark

Hyundai is no longer a nascent star in China: from 1.16 million vehicles sold in 2016 only 151,000 last year. This makes Elexio more important than it seems. This is the company’s bet, supported by an investment of 1.1 billion dollars (with Baic), to return to the market. The factories close, sales fall, but Hyundai elexio (2026) is a hope of reincarnation.

Conclusion: When Hyundai Elexio (2026) does not need the ioniq to shine

The Hyundai Elexio (2026) is not an ioniq, but it is not even remotely out of the box. It is like that child who decides to cut pink hair because he thinks he is cool, and he succeeds. With this product Hyundai has shown that he knows how to create not a generic product worldwide, but a local jewel. Technically impressive, with a safe and culturally very weighted design. Thanks to Huawei’s intelligence, prohibited in the West, it could also be successful in China.

And the price? They have not yet said it, but if Hyundai behaves intelligently, the Elexio will have a value for money such as to bring to the Koreans more than a simple 8 on the plaque. What if he ever arrives in Europe? Well, that’s just a party. For now, Elexio remains an exclusive electrical creation: from Korea, for China, with great ambitions.

Would you like Elexio to arrive in Europe?
