Joe Scitto It is a mix of succulent ground meat, dense tomato sauce and spices, which together create a flavor that will immediately lick your fingers.

ingredients

  • 500 g of minced meat
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • ½ medium onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • 200 ml of tomato sauce (or tomato sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard (classic yellow)
  • ½ teaspoon of chilli powder (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon of paprika powder (sweet)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwiches or soft sandwiches to serve

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the ground meat and brown it until it is completely golden and crumbled. If necessary, drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, the green pepper and the garlic. Brown for a few minutes, until the vegetables become soft and fragrant.
  3. Add the tomato puree and cook for another minute to mix the flavors.
  4. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, worker sauce, mustard, chilli pepper powder, paprika, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to mix all the ingredients uniformly.
  5. Lower the flame and let the sauce gently simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until it thickens well.
  6. Serve by pouring a generous spoonful of sauce on the sandwich. If desired, you can add a few slice of cheese, sliced ​​cucumber or onion rings to give greater consistency.

Tips for an even better sloppy Joe:
For an even more intense flavor, add grated cherdar cheese to the end. Spicy food lovers can add a pinch of spicy sauce or further chilli powder. For a touch of freshness, add lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers cut into thin slices.
