– On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the insertion of the wine landscapes of Langheroero and Monferrato in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the itinerant exhibition “Italy or Enotria: the Vigna del Risorgimento” was set up at the experimental cellar of the Umberto I School of Alba. The exhibition tells of the intertwining between the wine and the Risorgimento history over the 19th century, throughout the national territory, but with a particular focus on Piedmont and on the hills of Langhe and Roero. The exhibition, which can be visited until March 31, is divided into three sections. The first, “The wines of the patriots”, explores the intertwining of the biographies of the Risorgimento protagonists with the history of Italian Vin in the 19th century. “The vines of the kingdom” examines the harsh difficulties that the young kingdom of Italy had to face in the field of viticulture and the measures he adopted. Finally, “the King’s wine” celebrates the history of the Nebbiolo grape and the Barolo wine.
