
Since the beginning of the season there are about 180,000 people affected by the flu in Piedmont. During the week from 30 December to 5 January it is estimated that they are sick about 22.000 People: the incidence has increased in adulthood and has slightly decreased in the pediatric age.
The weekly incidence is 5 cases per thousand assisted: in detail, 6.3 cases for 1000 clients from 0 to 14 years; 5.3 cases for 1000 assisted from 15 to 64 years; 3,2 cases for a thousand clients in people with 65 and more years. The data is in line with the national trend. The peak of the epidemic will be expected in the coming weeks.
On January 9 they are beyond 693.000 Piedmontese citizens who have decided to get vaccinated, increasing compared to the same period last year: the number is already higher than the final data of the 2018-2019 flu vaccination campaign (670.000).
To date, situations of particular critical issues in the influx to hospitals are not reported. In recent weeks, the Region has given indications to the healthcare companies that have prepared individual plans with specific measures to prevent any hyper-influx situations, in particular in the emergency room.
