Skin that shines. No filters, no botox and no bank loans. It looks like a myth, but the secret could reside in your kitchen, more precisely in that cup of coffee that gives you back the desire to live every morning. Coffee is not only a fuel for the mind, but also a natural elixir for the skin. Thanks to its high content of antioxidants, caffeine and natural acids, it is an ideal ingredient for homemade masks that reinvigorate, smooth and illuminate the skin, without side effects, if not the possible desire to consume one more cup. And yes, you will smell an Italian coffee on Sunday morning.

Coffee is no longer just your best friend in the morning: now it can also be the main reason why your face shines as if it were under an Instagram filter. When shelves full of expensive and flashy packages (and empty promises) confuse you, it is worth returning to the origins. And the fundamental truth is simple: there is a miraculous dust hidden in your kitchen – coffee. With a pinch of creativity and simple ingredients you have in the pantry, you can make some completely natural face masks that will not only have a good perfume in the morning, but they will also make miracles for your skin.

For domestic use we recommend ground coffee – or the normal coffee powder you find in each sachet to prepare Turkish coffee (or the filter coffee). Instant coffee like Nescafé is not the best choice: in addition to containing additional processed ingredients, it does not have the same consistency and the same efficacy for delicate exfoliation. You will get the best results with finely ground coffeewhich is aggressive enough for exfoliation, but delicate enough not to damage the skin. If you have coffee grounds at home, you can use them, but obviously only if they have not already been mixed with milk and sugar.
